Living room
The seating is arranged around the view rather than the television. A low sofa, a pair of armchairs and one generous table keep the floor open. Lighting sits at three heights, so the room changes character from afternoon to late evening without a single switch feeling technical.
Kitchen and dining
Cabinetry reads as joinery, not as appliances. Handles disappear, the island is a single honed slab, and the dining table is close enough for the cook to stay in the conversation.
Bathroom
One stone, used on floor, wall and basin, so the eye rests. Brass is brushed and kept to a minimum. The mirror is lit from behind, and the towels are the only soft color in the room.
A short list, used with discipline. Each material appears in more than one room, so the home reads as one composition rather than a sequence of decisions.
Walls with a soft movement in the surface. Takes light gently and hides nothing.
Floors and joinery in a wide plank, matte finish, grain visible.
Bathrooms, thresholds and hearths. Warm gray, never polished.

Curtains and bedding in unbleached tones. The softest layer in the room.
